Description
This is a full time and exempt position. You will masterfully perform the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Continue to diversify and grow group exercise programs by recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and supervising a team of fitness professionals with authority to make independent decisions.
- Improve and provide innovative ideas to expand our fitness and wellness programs.
- Develop group exercise operational standards and implement policy standards for members and staff.
- Assesses all employees' progress continually; coaches’ employees with positive reinforcement, and disciplines, when necessary, fairly, and consistently; participates in performance evaluations, and, when necessary, assists in the termination process.
- Develop and grow the success of group exercise programs, health promotion events, and ancillary fitness programs.
- Establish and communicate team expectations regarding attendance and timeliness.
- Utilize GroupEx Pro platform to publish group exercise schedules, communicate team needs, organize subs, and notify members of any class changes.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to accurately publish monthly group exercise schedule for digital displays and printed distributions.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for group exercise class participation, consolidate and provide an accessible report to the Fitness and Wellness Director and Member Experience Team.
- Provide leadership and supervisory support throughout the fitness center, to group exercise instructors, personal trainers, fitness floor attendants, and internship students.
- Ensure the overall safety, health and welfare of all individuals participating in fitness and wellness programming.
- Ensures accurate facility maintenance procedures and checklists through routine preventative maintenance and repair.
- Ensures fiscal responsibility through efficient scheduling of services and, when necessary, makes changes to stay within budgetary guidelines including purchasing of program supply needs. Manage payroll.
- Directly manages group exercise budget.
- Supervises and follows up on members requests and comments.
- Provide excellent customer service, proactively solve problems, and address member concerns and questions.
- Attend monthly meetings with the Member Experience Team, which consists of the Membership, Aquatics, Tennis, Athletics, and Fitness and Wellness departments.
- Work collaboratively across multiple departments to develop a comprehensive vision.
Requirements
- 3 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
- Proficiency using Microsoft 365 apps.
- Strong leadership, team management, interpersonal and customer service skills including modeling virtue, fortitude, resilience, kindness, awareness, and ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Broad technical knowledge of development, implementation and evaluation of fitness testing, personal training programming and group exercise formats.
- Demonstrate ability to develop relationships and partnerships with members and colleagues.
- Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving difficult, sensitive, confidential, or emergency situations tactfully with sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently in the management of multiple projects.
Salary : $48,000 - $50,000
