Job Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and systems are in optimal working condition. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, conducting routine inspections, and coordinating repairs to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities: Supervision & Leadership:
Lead and supervise the hotel maintenance team, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion.
Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to maintenance staff.
Schedule and oversee contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs and projects.
Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest complaints, ensuring quick resolutions.
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and extend the lifespan of assets.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and equipment servicing.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, safety standards, and environmental laws.
Conduct safety checks and ensure all fire and life safety systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting) are operational.
Implement and enforce energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.
Inventory & Budgeting:
Manage the maintenance department’s budget, tracking expenses and optimizing cost efficiency.
Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and restocking.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of hotel maintenance or facilities management experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in maintenance management software is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and confined spaces.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as needed.
