Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals in a veterinary setting. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Monitor vital signs and provide post-operative care to animals.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including animal catheterization when necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennel areas.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques.
Requirements
- License or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred.
- Experience in pet care or animal husbandry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in animal restraint methods and handling techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
- Knowledge of dog training principles is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
