What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Intel Developer L2 - Decision Support Services position at Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics?
The Business Intelligence Developer (BID) must be able to translate the business needs of the customer, engage in discussion to better understand why the need for data exists, and employ technical tools to create data-driven solutions. The BID L2 will provide consultative services in response to service requests and ensure email requests are likewise represented. The BID L2 will lead/steward the use of these solutions to help change/measure/drive key business processes and key coordinated, clinical initiatives. They will develop interactive data solutions to drive improvement . The BID L2 will act as a customer relationships manager with clients, creating high levels of engagement. Clients typically exist across the enterprise/health system. The BID L2 will communicate with a wide customer base ranging from unit managers to executives and board members while gathering information from several sources, analyzing and summarizing the information to help draw conclusions.
The employee will access information considered 'confidential and protected' and therefore must comply with all relevant policies and procedures related to the use, disclosure, and security of this information as well as policies related to security of the organization's information systems. As a result, the individual is required to complete mandatory annual compliance with privacy and security.

Days of Week: MONDAY-FRIDAY
Qualifications
Minimum Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university plus two (2) years of relevant work experience required however, an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Degree.
A Bachelors degree may be substituted for experience.
Relevant Work experience includes: Healthcare experience, EMR system experience (Epic preferred), Data analytics
Minimum Job Experience: Two years of health care data analysis experience with in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations required.
An advanced degree may substitute as health care data analysis experience on year for year basis.
Job Related, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: With a focus amongst several departments across the enterprise/health system
Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities
Hands on experience with large relational databases/data warehousing, including ability to query databases using SQL or similar language
Experience with the following report writing and visualization tools preferred Epic Cogito Suite (RADAR, RW, SlicerDicer), SAP Business Objects (WebI), Power BI, Tableau or similar report writing and visualization tools
Excel skills, including complex functions, formulas, and formatting
Proven ability to work with and track large amounts of data (Millions of records) with accuracy
Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
Demonstrated ability to provide information in an easy-to-understand format
Candidates may be considered for Level 1 Business Intel Developer, depending on prior experience.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registrations, Certifications, and/or Licenses Preferred or Achieved Within 6 Months of Hire. Depending upon area of focus decided by manager Cogito fundamentals Cogito Access, Revenue, or Clinical Data Model [Proficiency or above]
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent" driver.
