Shaner Hotels is excited to offer an incredible opportunity at our Courtyard by Marriott-Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey! Situated on the vibrant Rowan University campus, our four-story hotel features 123 stylish rooms, including six elegant suites. The property boasts a freshly designed lobby with interactive technology and versatile spaces for both work and relaxation. Guests can enjoy convenient on-site dining and drinks at The Bistro.

Job Overview:

We’re looking for a General Manager to take charge of all hotel operations and lead our team to success at Courtyard by Marriott-Rowan University. If you’re a hands-on, results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, this could be your next career move!

What You’ll Do:

• Lead hotel operations with a focus on achieving financial goals and exceeding budget targets.
• Ensure payroll and purchasing controls are in place to drive profitability.
• Set ambitious financial objectives that align with the property’s goals.
• Uphold Shaner and franchise standards, ensuring top-notch service and quality.
• Be accessible and approachable to both guests and employees, fostering a welcoming environment.
• Maintain deep knowledge of hotel features, room types, and availability to ensure smooth operations.
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism and ensure ultimate guest satisfaction.
• Motivate and support your team, guiding them to deliver exceptional service and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Develop and maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence across all departments.
• Take ownership of customer service scores, cleanliness, and quality assurance during inspections.
• Embrace other duties as needed, adapting to the needs of the hotel and team.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 years of proven leadership experience in the hospitality industry.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with guests, staff, and management.
• A high school diploma (required), with a college degree in hospitality management or business (preferred).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)? That’s a plus!
• A solid understanding of budget preparation, cost control, and hotel operations.
• A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and driving hotel success.
• Familiarity with property management systems and local attractions to guide our guests.
