What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Shango?
The Maintenance Janitor is responsible for ensuring the essential cleaning functions of the facility and ensure facility restrooms are cleaned and in working order. This includes Building, Landscaping, Safety, plumbing and Janitorial functions (collectively known as ‘Maintenance’).
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE TO ENTER BUILDING
- Assists with the repairs of the facility
- Paints offices and common areas when needed
- Pulls electrical/phone/cable when needed.
- Assists with up keep of roof area.
- Minor plumbing repairs, sinks, toilets facets.
- Maintains the cleanliness of restrooms, includes toilets, countertops, sinks and floors.
- Communicates with Manager, and ensures directives are carried out to its expectations.
- Vacuum, mop, and buff floor areas, insures that areas are cleaned on a daily basis.
- Assists with repairs as needed.
- May be required to perform maintenance duties at odd hours and weekends, when needed.
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines.
- Maintains clear and accurate maintenance inventory. Ensures all items are accounted for in their area.
- Reports missing product or suspected theft to the security and upper management immediately.
- Performs any additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
OTHER ASSOCIATED FACTORS:
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas.
- Actively involved in Workplace Safety.
- Must maintain a positive attitude and able to communicate in a professional manner with other team members.
- May be required to lift boxes, merchandise medicines. Up to 50 lbs
- Ability to deal with problems and resolve them in a professional manner.
- Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours at a time in same place.
- Able to walk long distances. (Approximately 5 to 8 miles a day.
- Must be able to work when needed work on weekends and Holidays.
