Shannon & Wilson is requesting applications for a Senior Structural Engineer with 14 years of experience in structural engineering design. Experience in structural design and technical management for underground infrastructure for water / wastewater, transportation, transit, and railroad projects is preferred. The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for leading the design process and review, creating structural models using computer-aided technology, and providing structural services in geotechnical, natural resources, tunnels, and railroad markets.
Responsibilities
- Support project opportunities locally and nationwide in coordination with Shannon & Wilson office managers and practice leads.
- Support marketing services with qualifications input to proposals, participating in project interviews, and presentations.
- Develop project scope of work, budgets, and follow cost control strategies.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to support junior and entry-level engineers.
- Prepare and write engineering reports, analyses, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Provide technical review and quality assurance.
- Provide engineering services during construction to include reviewing contractor submittals, response to requests for information, and periodic site visits.
- Interact and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
- Support developing cost estimates for designs.
- Follow and promote Shannon and Wilson’s Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies.
