Job Summary: The Banquet Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of all banquet events at Shanty Creek Resort, including corporate meetings, weddings, golf outings, and social functions. This role ensures high standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction while managing all aspects of banquet operations including setup, staffing, execution, and breakdown.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of all banquet functions, ensuring events are executed according to client specifications and resort standards.
Collaborate with the Conference Services team to review event orders and ensure smooth communication between departments.
Manage and schedule banquet staff including captains, servers, bartenders, and setup crews.
Train, motivate, and evaluate banquet staff to maintain high performance and exceptional service.
Monitor event timelines, guest satisfaction, and resolve issues or last-minute changes with professionalism.
Maintain inventory and control of banquet equipment and supplies.
Work with culinary and audio-visual departments to ensure seamless execution of food service and technical needs.
Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and labor management.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3–5 years of banquet or event operations management experience, preferably in a resort or large-scale conference setting.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, event logistics, and POS systems.
ServSafe and/or TIPS certification preferred.
