Role and ResponsibilitiesThis person must have a strong understanding of production machinery and is responsible for assisting the Plant Manager to ensure our company produces on-time quality parts for our customers. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Assist Plant Manager in organizing and managing day-to-day activities for plant operations.
- Coordinate with Plant Manager in resolving plant issues in a timely manner.
- Provide training and guidance to workers to meet performance standards in a safe working environment.
- Maintain proper documentation for all plant related activities.
- Ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are readily available for workers to carry out production processes.
- Assist Plant Manager in maintaining a clean and organizing manufacturing facility.
- Schedule routine inspection and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.
- Review and sort work orders from the front office for accuracy.
- Distribute work orders to production staff and machine operators at the beginning and end of the work shift.
- Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving department to ensure completed parts are ready for shipment.
- Coordinate and track work schedules with Plant Manager to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to learn and improve to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High School diploma or GED required. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production management role.
- Willingness to learn and follow written or oral work instructions from the Plant Manager.
Preferred Skills- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery including but not limited to facers, lathes, CNC’s, and other mechanical machinery.
- Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work well with others, be organized and detail-oriented.
- Willingness to work in shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary.
Additional Notes- Satisfactory pre-employment drug testing is required.
