What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tooling Technician position at Shape Technologies Group?
• Tooling Tech will need to build tools with the direction of the tooling supervisor.
• Must report any issue or if information is needed to complete jobs to the Tooling Supervisor immediately.
• Must build tools to SPA standards and according to customer specs.
• Must work well with others
• Each tool will be checked by the tooling supervisor referencing the check-off sheet at the end of every job it is the tooling tech's responsibility to fully complete the build prior to the check to minimize any rework on the tool.
• Knowledge of epoxies (preferred).
• Carry out manual tool changes on all manufacturing tools in line with production schedules.
• Complete repairs and modifications of manufacturing tools
• Complete a job ticket at the end of every shift and submit as well as completing E-Time before leaving each day.
• Produce all tools with cost-effective means in mind and to exceed customers’ expectations.
• Maintain Safe working habits
• Ability and willingness to learn and grow with the company
• Good housekeeping is essential to maintain a clean work area and return unused tools to their proper place.
• Properly label parts or models supplied to SPA for fixture builds with the name of the part or program name or mold, date, customer name, and Job number.
• Willingness to cross-train, to be versatile in the company
• Work in a fast-paced environment
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL
Travel is estimated at 15-20%.
LOCATION
This position is on-site.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Basic woodworking skills.
• Basic welding skills on TIG and MIG. (Aluminum and Steel).
• Basic machining skills, including Bridgeport and lathe (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics.
• Basic knowledge of working with composite materials (preferred).
• Ability to read prints.
• Basic Fabricating skills.
• Ability to travel with no limitation within and out of the country.
• Must have proper tools to execute all tasks.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma/GED.
