Position Title:                          Middle School (Grades 6 and 7) Reading Teacher Location:                                  Shapleigh School Reports To:                              Principal - Anne Ellis Position Start Date:                  August 2025 Required Certification:            CHRC & State of Maine certification or certifiable - English (5-8) 100M, General Elementary (K-8) 020, Literacy Specialist 092 Application Deadline:               May 9, 2025 The Kittery School District is currently seeking a highly qualified, certified Reading teacher to teach general reading classes to our 6th and 7th grade students at Shapleigh School.  This position will start in late August for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a valid Maine certification in English or be certifiable in the State of Maine, have experience teaching in a Proficiency Based Learning system,  and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary teaching team. Required Application Materials: Completed Applitrack Application Resume Cover Letter Transcripts (Not required for School Nutrition or Custodial positions) Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial application; Official transcripts will be required upon job offer.
