Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in condition or behavior to the healthcare team.
- Ensure resident rights are upheld and respected at all times.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Administer first aid as required and follow safety protocols to maintain a safe living environment.
- Support residents with home health tasks and long-term care needs as directed by healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care, home care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care practices and dementia care techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and the ability to advocate for those in your care.
- Excellent patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior promptly.
- Certification in first aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while assisting residents with mobility.
