Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and seniors in various settings including group homes, nursing homes, and community care environments. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in daily living activities.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients in meal preparation and nutrition management.
- Engage clients in recreational activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with mobility needs including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
- Document daily activities and progress notes as required.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Background in senior care or nursing home settings is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client support.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient behavior effectively.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory.
