Client Advocate
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Client Advocate to join our team. As a Client Advocate, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients in various challenging situations. The ideal candidate will have a background in social work, human services, or related fields, with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate difficult circumstances.
Responsibilities:
- Initial client intake and recommendations for programming.
- Advocate for developing plans and strategies to assist clients in identifying and achieving goals as necessary or on an ongoing basis.
- Review client requests for SHARE financial assistance and recommend to the Executive Director
- Review client needs and eligibility for government and other benefits, programs, and services; assist with applications as necessary.
- Complete case notes and other required documentation.
- Work as part of a team with other staff members to plan, execute, and evaluate SHARE programming.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services or social work and a minimum of 5 years of case management or a similar position
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with clients, community partners, donors, other staff, volunteers, and the general public
- Ability to network with other human service agencies and professionals
- Ability to assess, understand, and prioritize client needs and help find solutions to avoid potential client crises.
- Working knowledge of entitlements, homelessness, hunger, and food insecurity issues, preferably in New Hampshire
- Awareness of client rights and responsibilities
