FUNCTIONS: 

We are seeking a dedicated Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist to help us assess the efficacy and impact of our programs and initiatives.  

The Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation systems, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting on project results. The Specialist will work to ensure that projects and programs implemented by Shared Hope International are running effectively and producing the desired results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods, data analysis, and the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively.  

The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist will bring energy and excitement to the Shared Hope Institute for Justice & Advocacy and will support the growth and stability of the Insitute’s work. Shared Hope International is a dynamic workplace that requires a passionate, dedicated team member with a great sense of humor and the ability to multitask and manage changing priorities, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple demanding responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation system for projects and programs  
  • Develop and utilize effective data collection tools and methodologies  
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data to identify trends and insights and improve project performance and efficiency, as well as impact  
  • Prepare detailed reports on the progress and outcomes of projects  
  • Assess the effectiveness and impact of the various programs and initiatives  
  • Coordinate and communicate with various stakeholders regarding project outcomes and improvements  
  • Provide technical advice to project teams regarding monitoring and evaluation methods  
  • Ensure that all monitoring and evaluations are conducted in accordance with ethical standards and practices  
  • Translate assessments into actionable insights and strategies.  
  • Ensure programs achieve desired outcomes.  
  • Recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate  
  • Train and guide staff in data collection methods, monitoring, and evaluation  
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with project team and stakeholders  
  • Ensure data quality and integrity  
  • Stay up to date with knowledge about effective monitoring and evaluation practices 
  • Has eyes, ears and heart open always to spot opportunities to position Shared Hope as a leading anti-trafficking organization 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proven experience as a Monitoring and Evaluation professional or similar role  
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods  
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and database management. Salesforce experience is highly desirable.  
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills  
  • Ability to present data in a comprehensive and detailed manner and make the connection to impact 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy  
  • Advanced degree in evaluation, social science, economics or a related field

WORK LOCATION: Shared Hope Institute for Justice & Advocacy in Washington, DC.  This is not a remote position. 

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS: The salary range is $70-$80k annually, based upon education and experience with annual performance-based salary increases. SHI’s full-time employee benefits include 401K employer match up to 3% of your salary, health insurance benefits with $100/month employee contribution, ten paid holidays and a generous PTO policy.
