The Programs Manager will bring energy and excitement to the Shared Hope Institute for Justice & Advocacy and will support the growth and stability of the Insitute. This essential position will support all program teams. The Programs Manager will directly manage a robust year-round internship and fellowship program from recruitment to conclusion. The Programs Manager will provide administrative management of Shared Hope’s small grants program which invites selected organizations to apply annually. Shared Hope International is a dynamic workplace that requires a passionate, dedicated team member with a great sense of humor and the ability to multitask and manage changing priorities, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple demanding responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Our work responds to events and opportunities as they arise – there are times when long hours are required and times when they are not. Shared Hope International is results-oriented and expects the same from all team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develops a robust internship and fellowship program and recruits, manages, inspires and motivates interns and fellows to enlarge Shared Hope’s ability to perform its mission
- Works toward cross-coordination and leveraging of activities, resources, capacity and outcomes
- Facilitates in-person meetings and convenings
- Supports the annual JuST Conference logistics and administration
- Ensures smooth and consistent operations, from ordering supplies to troubleshooting technology needs
- Has eyes, ears and heart open always to spot opportunities to position Shared Hope as a leading anti-trafficking organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience working with databases and email automation platforms, ideally Salesforce and Pardot, or willingness to learn
- Experience directing and mentoring interns and fellows
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take direction from others, solve problems with limited supervision, prioritize tasks, adapt quickly and adjust to changing and often challenging environments
- Ability to work within remote teams effectively
- Strong verbal communicator in person and digitally; effective presenter for internal and external audiences and comfort with digital presentations
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking, prioritizing, and meeting expectations and goals
- Excellent administrative, organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of the faith-based community and ability to communicate a Christian message in written and verbal presentations
- Committed interest in the issues surrounding human trafficking for sexual exploitation, especially of children and youth
- Commitment to teamwork, growth, and transparency
- Flexibility for occasional travel and cultural adaptability in communications and travel

WORK LOCATION: Shared Hope Institute for Justice & Advocacy in downtown Washington, DC. This is not a remote or a hybrid position.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: The salary range is $65-$70k annually, based upon education and experience with annual performance-based salary increases. SHI’s full-time employee benefits include 401K employer match up to 3% of your salary, health insurance benefits with $100/month employee contribution, ten paid holidays and a generous PTO policy. DC-based staff are provided with a commuter subsidy monthly.
