Job Description
As a Billing Specialist I at Community Health Systems – Shared Services Center, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm CST.
Required Experience:
- 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or business office
Preferred Experience:
- 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or business office focused on insurance medical billing
- Certified Billing and Coding (CBCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Equivalent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review of insurance information, demographics, authorizations, charge adjustments and coding information for validity. (40%)
- Send requests to facility/internal to resolve barriers of clean claim submission and obtain required documentation needed for specific paper claim submission. (30%)
- Review insurance websites, contact payers and/or employers to ensure insurance information/authorizations/claim numbers are valid. (10%)
- Review of payer rejections and keying claims on websites. (10%)
- This is a fully remote opportunity.
