Who we are:
We are an early-stage loyalty app startup on the verge of something big! We are looking to hire a Chief Product Manager/Owner who will be responsible for aspects of product development and management. While the overall product strategy will remain guided by leadership, we seek someone to drive the execution, manage day-to-day product activities, and contribute to scaling our product. We are a small but motivated team with big ambitions and are looking for someone to make a real impact.
Our loyalty app is powered by a Django-based backend, with APIs written in Python. The frontend is built using React for the web and React Native for the mobile app. Currently, the platform is hosted using AWS. We also use Figma for design changes, as we already have designs in place for product improvements.

What you'll do:
- Immerse yourself in our system, interacting with customers to truly understand their needs, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Develop a deep understanding of the data, key metrics, and trends that drive brands and users to our product.
- Capture, analyze, and prioritize customer insights and feedback and translate them into product features and improvements.
- Lead the ideation, design, and launch of innovative new products by leveraging market insights, customer feedback, and technology advancements, including KPIs to measure success.
- Rapidly and iteratively build and launch innovative changes to our app to support partner brands and end users.
- Ruthlessly prioritize the most impactful things, always learning what’s best for our customers.
- Craft and own your roadmap that focuses on ambitious goals, builds momentum, and inspires passion in the engineering and design team you'll partner with.
- Be the bridge between the needs of our users and our talented developers, leading weekly sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-up calls to align on work progress, priorities, and clear any roadblocks that arise.
- Thrive within ambiguity and find new, creative ways to solve problems every day, with data as your guide.
- Review and create product documentation, including user guides, release notes, and FAQs to ensure clarity and ease of use for both internal teams and customers.
Product Testing & Story Management Responsibilities:
- Accept and review completed user stories and bug fixes on the Jira board, ensuring they meet the necessary acceptance criteria before moving forward.
- Organize and prioritize new bugs and user stories, ensuring they align with the product roadmap and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to write and define new bugs and features, ensuring that future developments are clearly outlined and actionable.
- Ensure that each feature and bug fix is adequately tested before deployment, collaborating with developers to handle testing responsibilities where necessary.
Product Owner Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research and contribute to the design of features. Push for high reliability and responsiveness from a systems and user satisfaction perspective.
- Lead stakeholder discussions for the overall vision and translate them into detailed requirements, user stories, and actionable tasks. Provide feedback to engineering discussions to refine them and work cross-functionally with business, internal users, engineering, and UX design teams to define and drive product vision and strategy.
- Serve as the primary source of external information for the Scrum teams, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability, the intended value to the customer, and functional/non-functional requirements framing the scope of the capability.
- Author, refine, and approve backlog items while managing trade-offs and defining clearly articulated acceptance criteria.
- Lead the Scrum team to ensure that capabilities are in-scope, on-time, and of high quality, participating in all team ceremonies including standups, planning, review, and retrospectives.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle from inception to launch, with the ability to prioritize the most important features to maximize impact.
- Prioritize between features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence.
- Be the decision maker for system feature implementation and be responsible and accountable for the outcome.
- Work with the engineering team to deliver a scalable architecture that meets current needs and considers future growth scenarios.
- Manage the up-to-date release pipeline, including time and costs.
- Support sales by providing training and sales tools.
Who you are:
- You are an experienced problem solver with 5 years of product management experience, including leading a team of engineers in an Agile environment.
- You have exceptional communication and documentation skills—a knack for details.
You’re data-fluent with a hands-on approach to finding, pulling, and using data to solve problems, identify opportunities, and are capable of inventing and using new metrics to make decisions. You’re excited to dive deep into data using analytical tools.
- You’re an action taker who makes good decisions with incomplete data and are constantly optimizing for learning. You find creative ways around blockers and always have an option for what's next and never an excuse for why you can't proceed.
- You have a curious mind that allows you to identify customer needs and trends.
- You seamlessly think about both the product and the business and are equally comfortable talking about funnel metrics and P&Ls. You never say, "That is not my job."
- You deploy both qualitative and quantitative data to influence key stakeholders, inspire your team, and tailor your message to your audience.
- You lead by example and build strong relationships. You’re a servant leader to your engineering and design partners and seamlessly juggle priorities from multiple stakeholders.
- You raise the bar and inspire others to bring their 'A' game, always looking for opportunities for improvement.
- You operate with a sense of urgency and always look for new ways to understand our customers and create value on their behalf.
Product Owner Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher with 5 years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role.
- CSPO, PMP, or MBA would be nice but not mandatory.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics for making assumptions and decisions. Proficiency with data analytics using SQL, Pandas, Tableau, and/or similar tools.
- Excellent project delivery skills with experience participating in cross-functional teams.
- Experience building mobile apps or hybrid (mobile web) apps—especially in a B2C/D2C setting.
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies.
- Ability to attend occasional office and client visits, typically 1x per month.
This position has annual bonus potential.
