1st Shift Maintenance Lead/Hourly Position

Job Summary: Preventative Maintenance, Maintenance Repair, and Maintenance of Plant Equipment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
About the Role:
- The Maintenance Lead is the person responsible for maintaining, improving, and servicing all equipment and manufacturing systems at the Glass & PVB Production Departments. They are responsible for all maintenance related to scheduling, parts acquisition, reporting, and communication with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Energetic professional who doesn’t mind wearing multiple hats. Experienced in handling a wide range of maintenance related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision. Must be action oriented, hands-on, well organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of supporting management and production by ensuring all equipment is functioning at peak efficiency 24/7.
What You’ll Do:
- Point person for Glass & PVB equipment & facility maintenance.
- Adhere to all Shark Safety & Environmental Policies & Procedures (PPE, LOTO, Equipment Inspection, etc…)
- Immediately respond to all off-schedule and emergency related down time issues. Any downtime longer than 30 minutes contact both the Plant Supervisor via telephone and notify the Operations Manager via email.
- Reducing downtime is top priority. Coordinate with management, or planning, as needed. Focus on cost reduction and possible savings (by process improvement or better preventative maintenance).
- Organize and schedule maintenance related tasks, including repairs, preventative maintenance, third party services, reporting, and communication utilizing CMMS software.
- Properly track Labor, Spare Parts, and Downtime to ensure accurate data and inventory levels which are used to update monthly KPI’s.
- Ensure maintenance teams understands and adheres to maintenance schedules and best practices (wear items, program settings, water system, shredder PM, floculant, etc..)
- Provide general support and maintenance related training when necessary to Team Leads and Operators.
- Work closely together with HR on performance reviews, timecards, employee corrective actions, career development, and coaching for maintenance team.
- Ensure all relevant documents are maintained and current, both physically and on the drive.
- Notify Purchasing when spare parts or items needed (be detailed in what is needed, timing, etc.)
- Monitor maintenance team to ensure they follow procedures and instructions.
- Work closely together with production.
- Maintain the maintenance area on the production floor by organizing and cleaning.
- Develop and execute maintenance plan in conjunction with TPM Facilitator.
- Analyse breakdown and repairs to create the right preventative maintenance plan.
- Strong administrative record keeping, time management, and root cause analysis.
- Be supportive and collaborate with other team members across the organization with a team-oriented approach.
- Participate in ongoing training requirements.
- Comply with all company policies according to employee handbook during onboarding.
- Performs other duties, as required.
- Special projects, as requested.
Required Skills:
· Strong mechanical aptitude with focus on troubleshooting
· How to navigate and understand CMMS software, and other Office Suite tools.
· Basic electrical trouble shooting skills in an industrial setting.
· Fabrication/welding experience.
· Knowledge of Lean Methodology & ISO Certification a plus.
