Overview
Sharkey's Glass Bottom Tours is based out of St. Pete Beach Fl and has been operating 3 successful city locations for the last 5 years and just opened new locations in Palm Harbor and Key West. We are the original and largest Glass Bottom LED Fish Feeding Night Tour company in Florida operating in St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Beach, and Sarasota. We're focused on making sure everyone has a fun and memorable experience on the water, while closely following safety procedures to meet USCG standards. Are you outgoing, love working with people, and want to have fun at work? We are hiring tour guides and kayak crew members right here in Key West to Marathon. Our guides make anywhere from $30-$40 per hour PLUS TIPS! Typical work hours are from 5:30pm-10:30/11 PM keeping us out of the heat, while giving guests a memorable experience on the water! You'll work with a 2 or 3 man team, loading and unloading kayaks and all necessary equipment, before paddling the waterways while talking to our customers about the area and ecosystem via a conference call system. Our tours last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and we provide a proven guide script, ensuring a worry-free work environment and a spectacular experience! Responsibilities
You Must Have a 6 cylinder SUV or Truck with Tow Package to haul kayak trailer to tour location. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VEHICLE TO TOW!
Experience
- Conduct guided evening/night tours at 6pm, 8pm and 9:30pm.
- Work efficiently with 2-to-3-man team setting up and unloading kayaks.
- Sometimes you will only conduct 1 to 2 tours a night giving shared responsibilities as a Guide or Backup Guide or working Shore Patrol which would rotate.
- Maintain a safe environment for guests during tours, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and engagingly.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tours run on schedule.
- Public speaking proficiency to confidently address groups of varying sizes.
- Leadership qualities to guide groups effectively and manage any challenges that arise during tours.
- Exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
