Position Title: Private Equity Intern

Job Description:

As a Private Equity Intern you will be required to execute the following tasks within the guidelines and procedures provided. Each task will be carried out under the supportive supervision and guidance of a Private Equity Supervisor. The Private Equity Intern will receive induction training tailored to key topics related to your role. In addition, there will be client-focused, technical on-the-job training, throughout the course of the internship program.

Responsibilities:

The below list is not finite and may be added to. The combination of tasks required to be executed will vary depending on both client structure and client requirements and will include:

• Assist in the production of quarterly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV PE checklists
• Prepare investor P&L allocations as part of monthly and quarterly NAV packages
• Assist in calculating and processing capital calls, capital distributions and statements for closed-end funds
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations
• Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Private Equity Supervisor
• Work with the Private Equity Supervisor in calculating and processing income and expense accruals, including trading accruals
• Comply with defined checklists, procedures and controls
• Assist in the quarterly financial statement preparation
• Converse and liaise with internal service departments to resolve miscellaneous fund issues
• Operating as a client focused structure which provides a wide range of experience to all levels of employees. As such a Private Equity Fund Accounting Intern should be flexible and willing to adapt.

Qualification: 

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Financial, Marketing, Economics, Advertising, Communication, Sales, Actuarial, Management Information Systems, Risk Management, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Accountancy or Industrial Engineering.
• IT Literate with an emphasis on Excel
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and well organized
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Compensation:

Compensation for this position is market competitive .
