Greenskeeper

Job Purpose: Greenskeepers with Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club are responsible for providing members and guests with an elite golf experience by maintaining superior golf course conditions.

Job Summary (Essential Functions):

• Assist golf course superintendent in whatever manner necessary to achieve the standards set forth in the Standards Operation Procedure document.
• Work with golf course personnel to complete daily work assignments.
• Communicate as necessary with golf course staff and members.
• Maintain a professionalism in all member and employee interactions.
• Maintain understanding of and compliance with club policies and procedures.
• Promote safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
• Maintain golf course by raking and edging bunkers, preparing and laying sod, raking and blowing leaves, hand watering fairways and rough, mowing, and other duties as required.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Walk-mow greens, tees, collars and approaches.
• Use riding mowers to mow fairway and rough.
• Cut cups and set tees.
• Hand-water greens.
• Repair and maintain Driving Range.
• Controls gophers and moles.
• Help with projects as needed/assigned, ie. bunker repair, drainage
• Mix and spray pesticides and fertilizers on greens, tees, and fairways.
• Safely operate mowers, tractors, and turf vehicles in line with best practices and departmental standards.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and projects as needed and assigned.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., as well as stand, sit or kneel for extended periods of time. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Also, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and sometimes loud noises.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, gardening, or general maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of lawn care and equipment operation.
