Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with behavioral health challenges, including those on the autism spectrum, to implement treatment plans and support their development. This role requires a strong understanding of behavior management techniques and the ability to collect and document data accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Utilize behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Collect and analyze data on client progress, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Maintain organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in medication administration as needed, following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to support the client's behavioral health needs.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education and behavioral health.
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and data collection methods is essential.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices and experience maintaining medical records is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Experience in special education settings is advantageous but not required.
- A background in behavioral health or related fields will be beneficial for success in this role.
