Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dietetics and a passion for promoting health and wellness through nutrition. You will be responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing personalized dietary plans, and providing ongoing support to help individuals achieve their health goals. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, particularly in acute care settings and geriatrics.
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' nutritional status and dietary needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on patient assessments.
- Provide education on dietary practices, weight loss strategies, and health coaching to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to ensure proper meal planning and food service operations.
- Supervise dietary staff as needed, ensuring adherence to best practices in nutrition care.
- Stay updated on current research in dietetics, physiology, and nutrition systems to provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust dietary plans as necessary to achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- PA Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required.
- Experience in acute care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and specialized dietary needs for older adults is a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology as it relates to nutrition and health.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Proven experience in supervising or leading a team within a dietary department is an asset.
- Familiarity with health coaching principles and weight loss programs is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
