The receptionist will provide indirect patient care in a fast-paced telephone call center environment, while working with diverse groups of callers, visitors, and volunteers. Performs clerical duties and has the ability to multitask in a high call volume atmosphere. Meets the communication needs of the patient / family, office / clinical and medical staff. Responsible for call monitoring and working in conjunction with the clinical staff and offices in a fast, efficient and courteous manner via the secure texting platform. This position is part-time position working Tues, Thurs, Friday from 4 : 30-7 : 30pm and every other weekend from 8am-4 : 30pm.
Essential Duties :
1. Provides callers with appropriate information.
2. Accurately documenting and routing telephone messages to appropriate office and triages to Clinical team through secure texting
3. Places, receives, and routes a high volume of calls to the appropriate places : clinical, office or providers.
4. Maintains a good working relationship with peers, RNs, office and physicians.
5. Demonstrates good listening skills and notified the RN with urgent matters.
6. Demonstrates a complete knowledge of job responsibilities. Ability to multitask and prioritize accordingly and work both as a team but can perform job duties independently.
7. Promptly answers all inbound calls in a professional manner, identifying the caller and location while using appropriate salutations.
8. Oversees all part time receptionist.
9. All other duties as assigned.
10. Participates in SSRCH provided education and employee meetings.
Working Conditions
1. Physical Requirements : Frequent ambulation; bending, lifting, twisting, pushing and pulling. Climb up and down stairs; able to sit for extended periods of time; manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
2. Mental Requirements : Read, speak, write and understand English; cognitive ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and ability to work independently with indirect supervision.
3. Working / Environmental Conditions : Fast-paced changing environment, with multiple directives from several disciplines.
4. Machines, Equipment, Tools Used : Telephone, Computer, Printer, Fax, Scanner, Laminator, Automobile
5. Exposures : Reasonably anticipated exposure to hazardous equipment, assorted chemicals, gases / vapors and other pollutants as in a normal office environment. Possible exposure to patients’ pets.
Professional Qualifications :
1. High School Diploma Required; College Degree Preferred.
2. 3-5 years of related office experience.
3. Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet Explorer.
4. Prior Customer Service & Phone / Receptionist Experience preferred.
5. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
