SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates new product projects, major product changes and other operations projects. This also includes the coordination of project requirements among all internal company functional areas and communication of project status to Senior Management. Responsible for the role of liaison among customers, Sales, Engineering, Validation, Procurement, Quality and Operations concerning project issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains overall responsibility for the Sharp XPReS Project Management Process
- Maintains XPReS Templates for all active projects
- Schedules, facilitates, documents, communicates monthly XPReS Project Team update meetings
- Maintains XPReS SharePoint Libraries for all active projects
- Attends bi-weekly Sales and Operating Planning meetings as the lead representative for new business development projects, product launches and other product changes or improvements
Receipt and processing of purchase orders from customers for individual projects.
Works with Account Coordinator (AC) to input project sales orders into QAD, assuring all project assumptions and deliverables noted on the customer purchase order are consistent with final estimates and quotations related to the project.
Review of project planned work orders in QAD for accuracy, timing and completeness.
Establishment and communication of agreed-to production and due dates with Master Production Scheduler and Customer.
Assist in establishing project scope and goals as required.
Development of detailed project plans with the input of the Customer, Sales, Validation, Procurement, Engineering, Quality and Operations departments.
Establishment of Customer and Sharp functional responsibility for each project task.
Creation of project timelines with critical path and milestones established.
Acquisition of project tasks and timeline approvals from all responsible functional areas and with Customer.
Management and coordination of project according to plan, timelines and milestones.
Communication of plan implementation status to Sales, Management, Customer and appropriate internal parties.
Assist in resolving project issues as they arise and provide alternative solutions to problems.
Revise project plans and timelines as needed and communicate revisions to functional management and customer.
Assume role as project activity contact for a project for Account Executive, Senior Management, Functional Management and Customer.
Finalize and maintain Project Charter throughout project life cycle.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university ideally in a technical discipline (Packaging Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering), preferred, not required; or at least three to five years related and documented experience and/or training in a related area;; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP Certification or concurrent pursuit of certification or other relevant Project Management Professional Development training reviewed and approved by immediate Supervisor.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Project. Familiar with ERP systems.
