Position Overview
The People and Culture Generalist will work directly under the Director of People and Culture, focusing on employee relations, training, and leave of absence management. In this hybrid role, you will be a key player in maintaining a positive and productive workplace by addressing employee concerns, facilitating training and development programs, managing leave of absence processes, and ensuring smooth onboarding. While this role offers some flexibility in managing daily tasks, it requires availability for scheduled meetings and responsibilities set by leadership. Additionally, travel to practices as needed—ranging from Chula Vista to Oceanside—is required, so reliable transportation and flexibility are important. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related issues, offering guidance and support.
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns, fostering a fair and consistent workplace.
- Coordinate and facilitate training programs for new hires and current employees, with a focus on leadership development, compliance, and skills enhancement.
- Manage leave of absence processes, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with regulations, and smooth coordination with employees and managers.
- Support the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
- Assist in developing and executing effective onboarding programs to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
- Lead or participate in special HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives and process improvements.
- Act as a backup for other HR roles within the department as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a strong focus on employee relations, training, and leave of absence management.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably with Paylocity.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in healthcare terminology.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office and remote work responsibilities.
