Job Title : LVN (Family Medicine) Location : San Marcos Job Type : Full Time Salary Range : $32.00 - $42.00 (Based on level of experience) About Us : At Graybill Medical Group, we’ve been a trusted source of quality health care for multiple generations of North San Diego County and Temecula families. Job Description : The primary focus of the LVN is to provide professional nursing care, assist healthcare providers, and manage patient flow for exams and procedures, and always protect patient and employee confidentiality. Key Responsibilities :
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Prepares rooms for visits and procedures with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Performs basic nursing procedures including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and application of simple dressings, perennial care, and urine tests, Foley catheter insertions, and irrigation.
- Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues IV fluids.
- Ensures that expired medications are appropriately disposed of.
- Responsible for following clinic policies and procedures for handling and disposing of infectious / hazardous wastes.
- Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
- Takes patient’s vital signs and provides personal care to patients.
- Responsible for accurate administration of medications and collection / handling of lab specimens.
- Provides health care instruction to patients and family members.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of patients’ medical records and handles patient records confidentially.
- Documents transactions, telephone conversations, observations, and orders in patient’s medical record according to the clinic’s policies and procedures.
- Arranges for patients ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Telephone reporting of lab results to patients.
- Demonstrates a courteous and helpful manner to patients, family members, and co-workers.
- Make sure the information given is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Return all phone calls the same day they were received – even to let them know you are waiting for additional information, results, etc.
- Keep patients informed of any delays in appointment time.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department goals and objectives and maintain good employee relations.
- Be professional and courteous with physicians, fellow staff, other departments, patients, and others.
- Other duties as assigned.
