South Coast Gynecologic Oncology seeks a Referral Coordinator to join their team Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm!
Overview: This role plays a key part of the clinical team. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the authorizations process for patients being seen at our practice. Responsible for assuring continuity of care for patients by coordinating timely authorizations. We are looking for a candidate up to the challenge and ready to join out work family.
Essential Duties:
- Handle all authorizations required for incoming patients appointments
- Responsible for multiple providers schedules and verification of insurance eligibility
- Submission of automatization requests for follow up visits to insurances and tracking status
- Assist Medical Assistants with authorization tasks for diagnostics needed and other types of referrals needed
- Communicates with providers to inform delays or barriers to care
- Understands the organization's commitment to provide high quality patient care and urgent needs specific to our specialty
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Recent experience verifying edibility and understanding HMO and PPO insurances in a high-volume environment is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology
