Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Payment Poster is responsible for accurately and timely posting of insurance and patient payments. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The individual in this role will ensure all payment transactions are recorded correctly in the practice management system and will handle discrepancies and denials efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post live checks, credit card payments, and EFT deposits by the next business day.
- Record and balance batches, run transaction reports, and verify month-end postings.
- Apply and enter insurance payments in multiple systems, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Identify and track missing payment information using payer portals to locate payments and EOBs.
- Communicate with clients to resolve payment discrepancies professionally.
- Document revenue, verify daily EFT deposits and scanned checks, and create monthly invoices for clients.
- Maintain accurate revenue reporting and document payment denials.
- Stay updated on medical billing and coding procedures and provide departmental coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Insurance Payment Poster.
- Knowledge of health insurance, EOBs, and insurance payments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of Mac OS and Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is beneficial.
