As part of the team, you will be responsible for project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, supervision, and construction management. You will work across multiple locations, primarily in Florida, and ensure the safe and successful execution of capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the execution of capital projects, including scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality
- Oversee construction management and contractor relationships to ensure project objectives are met
- Provide engineering design and work packages, and manage engineering firms to ensure deliverables meet expectations
- Collaborate with the Procurement Group on developing strategies, preparing requests for proposals, and evaluating bids
- Conduct safety audits, observations, and collaborate with contractors to implement strong safety programs
- Support environmental, regulatory, and production-related initiatives at project sites
- Provide guidance to contractors and internal teams to support technical and personal development
- Travel to Florida sites as needed to oversee design, fabrication, construction, and other project phases
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of related experience for Senior Project Engineer; 10 years for Lead Project Engineer
- Previous experience in managing large-scale industrial capital projects, particularly in the petrochemical or heavy industrial sectors
- Strong skills in managing complex projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Experience working with EPCM firms and third-party service providers
- Knowledge of MS Office, engineering software, SAP/Maximo, and Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- P.E. and/or PMP certifications preferred
- Experience with capital project execution in Class I DIV II processes is a plus
- Strong communication skills to manage large teams and diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and travel for site visits
- Ability to lift 0-25 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work at various heights and distinguish specific colors, patterns, or materials
- Ability to hear, read, write, and use fine motor skills
- Able to wear a respirator when necessary
