What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Sharp Solutions, Inc?
We are looking for a Controller for our client in the Raleigh, NC area.
I. Summary
This position will be responsible for aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including
daily accounting entries, periodic reporting, and managing the internal control environment
as detailed in the functions below. This position will have direct reporting obligations to both
the PTC President and the Broadcrest CFO.
The Controller is expected to be present on-site at PTC Headquarters, or branch locations
(as necessary), daily.
II. Functions
The Controller will be responsible for multiple functions on a periodic basis. The following is
an outline of initial responsibilities and may evolve over time according to the needs of the
business.
Daily
Reconciliation of technician production and related billing
Posting of daily production to Quickbooks for revenue recognition
Review of charges to Ramp expense account
Entering of approved invoices into accounts payable.
Weekly
Review of technician commission calculations
Payment of vendors
Review and approval of payroll
Review of accounts receivable
Preparation of cash forecast
Ensure bank accounts are properly funded
Monthly
Record all monthly closing entries, including accruals
Perform initial review of monthly financial statements and provide reporting package to PTC President and Broadcrest, including:
Monthly Financial Statements and balance sheet support
Budget to Actual Comparison
Summary of financial highlights
KPI Dashboard
Annually
Oversee renewal of insurance programs
Oversee renewal of employee benefit plans
Perform year-end closing of books and provide financial reporting package to
Broadcrest
Lead the facilitation of annual financial statement audit and tax return with external CPA firm
Create operating and capex budget for the following fiscal year
Coordinate tax projections with external CPA firm
III. Initial Goals
To ensure the success of the position and the business, the following are the initial goals
that are expected to meet on the timelines as outlined.
First 30 Days
Facilitate completion of 2024 audit and tax return (already in progress)
Prepare a summary of recurring vendors by expense type
Prepare a summary of accounting and reporting processes
Evaluate Quickbooks general ledger to provide for reporting by function/location
First 60 Days
In conjunction with CRM Specialist, complete transition from FieldRoutes to Evolve.
Propose improvements to existing accounting and reporting processes
Develop framework for monthly KPI dashboard
Develop monthly cash projection report
Define best practices to be implemented
First 90 Days
Complete financial statement close and reporting by 10th day of the month
Full implementation of new accounting and reporting processes
Present KPI Dashboard
Present cash projection report
Demonstrate understanding of business and the functions of each respective group
of stakeholders (technicians, branch managers, admins, President)
Collaborate with Senior Leadership team Broadcrest on building out a financial model
IV. Initial Salary and Benefits
The initial salary for the position is $125,000 - 140,000, annually, pro-rated for the period of the year in
which the Controller is actively employed.

V. Initial Bonus Plan
As the top professional in the accounting and financial reporting function of PTC, the
Controller will be eligible for annual bonus based on individual performance and
contributions to the overall health and growth of the business.
The initial bonus plan provides for a year-end bonus up to 10-15% of the base salary, and is
conditioned upon completion of the Initial Goals as outlined in Section III and continued
satisfactory performance of functions as outlined in Section II.
andidate is a detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company's financial records and account personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company's financial accounts.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 - 7 years of related experience
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred
- Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
