Sharp Transit is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Terminal Manager for our location in Jefferson, GA. The Assistant Terminal Manager is responsible for working with the Terminal Manager and assisting with the overall operations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain and develop relationships with our customer, be people-oriented, innovate and improve processes, provide a high-touch level of service, and be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the oversight of all terminal functions, including dispatch, maintenance, and scheduling for timely deliveries and backhauls
- Supervise and lead daily activities of the office personnel
- Monitor daily dispatch to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for continuous improvements
- Responsible for the management and setting the schedule for backhaul and communicating issues to our customer
- Review and match Bill of Landings with scheduled backhauls
- Generate daily and weekly customer billing
- Process driver non-load pay slips and submit for payroll processing
- Ensure safety, service and quality measures
- Ensure that drivers are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations including Hours of Service
- Assist, train or perform office functions on as needed basis and/or weekend rotation to ensure prompt delivery according to customer requirements
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 2 years of transportation management experience is required
- Strong decision-making ability with excellent customer focus and demonstrated attention to detail with proven track record for delivering results
- Demonstrated organizational, planning, prioritization and leadership skills
- Ability and desire to coach and grow driver pool
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem solving/decision making skills
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Project, Power Point and Outlook
