Position Summary
The District Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the district, including plant operations (if applicable), customer service, logistics, and full P&L management. This role plays a key part in driving business growth and operational efficiency while ensuring exceptional service to our customers. The District Manager will work closely with the sales and finance teams to support comprehensive waste management contracts, foster long-term customer relationships, and maximize account penetration and retention with hospitals, medical institutions, large quantity generators (LQGs), small quantity generators (SQGs), pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other waste generators.

Key Responsibilities
Customer & Business Development
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within customer organizations.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to assess customer needs and identify market opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategies to expand business with both existing and prospective customers.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and finance to convert leads into opportunities.
- Provide expert consultation to customers regarding regulatory compliance and best practices.
Operational & Financial Management
- Lead district operations, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high service standards.
- Oversee financial performance, including budget preparation, cost control, and P&L management.
- Develop and implement business plans in collaboration with leadership teams to support sustainable growth.
- Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
Project & Service Execution
- Conduct facility walkthroughs, service reviews, and assessments to determine customer needs.
- Develop tailored service solutions, including project estimates, infrastructure planning, and material management.
- Oversee the implementation of new services, ensuring smooth transitions and operational readiness.
- Address and resolve customer concerns, continuously improving service delivery.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Provide guidance on performance management, recruitment, and team development.
- Support operational teams with resources, training, and strategic direction to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (10 years).
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within a distribution center, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with employees, senior leadership, and external partners.
- Experience managing P&L and driving financial performance preferred.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines.
