Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Shasta Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures, ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient test results, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform waived, moderate, and highly complex tests authorized by CLIA, using manual and automated methods in various disciplines, including Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and others.
- Adhere to laboratory procedures for test collection, processing, analysis, and reporting, as well as established quality control policies and procedures.
- Identify problems that may affect test performance and take corrective action or notify supervisors as needed.
- Review patient results before releasing or reporting, recognizing age-specific differences in expected results.
- Participate in proficiency testing and adhere to all department and hospital policies related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biological science, chemical, physical, biological science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum one-year work experience in high complexity testing, or completion of an approved internship training program.
- Current and valid California State License.
