Shaver & Miller is a fiber optic network construction company that delivers high-speed internet infrastructure to communities and businesses. We are expanding our team and seeking hardworking and experienced Underground Fiber Crew Members to help build and maintain underground fiber networks.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain underground construction equipment (e.g., directional drills, trenchers, plows).
Requirements:
Experience in underground utility or fiber optic construction preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain underground construction equipment (e.g., directional drills, trenchers, plows).
- Install conduit, fiber optic cables, handholes, and vaults.
- Perform trenching, plowing, and boring for fiber optic installations.
- Read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Identify and mark underground utilities before digging.
- Ensure worksite safety, including traffic control compliance and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
- Work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and project managers.
Requirements:
Experience in underground utility or fiber optic construction preferred.
- Familiarity with trenchers, directional drills, other heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a background check & drug screening
