We are hiring an Industrial Services Technician to work in a wide variety of customer settings, alongside engineering personnel and Shaw Electric staff to successfully and profitably complete projects. Technicians serve as ambassadors for the company solving both internal and external customer problems, they help generate sales and repeat business through their expertise and knowledge. An Industrial Services Technician will provide troubleshooting at customers' facilities, including working with DCS, PLC and HMI's as well as all facets of electrical power and control systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support services to customers by understanding the customers' needs and solving them with accuracy and providing great communication and documentation. .
- Perform high voltage testing and maintenance on breakers, starters, transformers, cables, and other medium voltage(up to 35kv) equipment.
- Perform thermography studies by taking thermography images, identifying overheating and other electrical issues, creating reports and presenting to customers.
- Effectively communication and coordination of work-in-progress including updates to the customer and other internal team members.
- Construct and install electrical and control systems by building panels, terminate wiring, and installing power and control wiring to the customers' satisfaction and according to industry codes/requirements.
- Installing and trouble-shooting control systems, including PLC control devices, PLC programming, wireless devices, industrial networks, and field devices and instruments.
- Regularly perform trouble shooting on motors, relays, low voltage power systems, PLCs, instrument loops, and communication systems.
- This position will be part of an on-call rotation to provide off hour coverage.
