Job Title
Plant HW Pressing | LTO I Shift C
Position Overview
Position Objective: Transport raw and pressed materials to and from the Pressing department to ensure that the flow of product is uninterrupted.
Essential Duties:
1. Transport raw materials from storage areas to pressing infeed.
2. Transport pressed panels to the WIP area placing the bolsters of the same height/profile under each bundle.
3. Follow specific instructions on each order.
4. Achieve set quality standards.
5. Keep machines and work areas clean and free of dust.
6. Open and prepare raw materials.
7. Place bolsters of the same height/profile under each bundle of WIP materials.
8. Place packaging materials in appropriate locations.
9. Locate pallets of material in the shop floor system and issue to line.
10. Empty dumpsters and transport used materials as needed.
11. Pick up bolsters from the floor area and place them in a designated location once material has been removed from them.
12. Perform other requested duties as requested by lead or department manager.
Non-Essential Duties:
1. Must be a team player.
2. Take an active role in committees.
3. Cross-train for other jobs on pressing and milling lines.
Physical Requirements:
1.Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
2. Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours a day.
3. Must be able to climb stairs several times throughout the day.
4. Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day.
5. Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.
6. Must be able to handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements.
7. Must be able to visualize defects in the product.
8. Must be able to visualize color defects in the product.
Other Requirements:
1. Basic reading, writing, and math ability.
2. Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained.
3. Must be capable of learning and performing additional operations
4. Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software.
Training Requirements:
1. On the job training
2. Must have all OSHA, SAFE, SMS, and plant specific training.
3. Lift Truck training
Tool, Equipment, & Material Requirements:
1. Safety Glasses
2. PPE listed on JHA
Safety & Security Requirements:
1. Must comply with all required OSHA, SAFE, and plant specific safety rules and regulations.
2. Refer to the Plant JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) for this job for the prevention of accidents.
3. Need to report unstable veneer bundles in veneer room to supervisor.
4. Do not open more than 10 bundles of veneer at a time in the veneer room
5. Use the bolster pusher to push bolsters and then pick up and stack one at a time.
6. Do not use pressing WIP aisle as throughway – it should only be used to store and retrieve WIP.
Work Shift
12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
