Position Overview
Load packages of single or plied yarn on the carousel of the Back winder machine. Doff off finished product packages as directed and otherwise operate a Back winder machine.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate a Gilbos Backwind Machine
- Open pallets or cases of raw yarn using Duckbill knife or other appropriate hand tool.
- Recycle or discard packaging material.
- Remove yarn from container, transfer to creel pegs, and splice in.
- Place usable empty tubes in magazine.
- Place appropriate yarn label instead the tube of finished yarn.
- Tie off and doff packages of finished yarn.
- Visually compare finished yarn to the standard for color and quality discrepancies.
- Pack yarn using the pack-out conveyor.
- Compare labels, doff tickets, and spec sheets for discrepancies.
- Maintain any reports and/or records.
Requirements
- Frequently required to read, write, stand, walk, reach 78ins, and handle packages 12-14lbs.
- Occasionally required to kneel, crouch, stoop, and lift
- Occasionally required to lift 25lbs.
- Ability to carry out written and oral instructions
