Position Overview
Shaw Industries is hiring a Director of Supply Chain Operations for our West region. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Supply Chain leader that will enable sales success in the geographical area.
This leader will reside in Los Angeles, CA, with an office in the main logistics hub and work daily with the local Business Unit (BU) General Manager/Divisional Vice President (DVP) to develop and act on supply chain strategies.
The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, foster innovative partnerships, prioritize customer centricity, excel in supply chain management, ensure cost efficiency, and maintain an employee-centric approach.
Scope of Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Leader will oversee and optimize supply chain operations for the West region, focusing on strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement to meet business objectives across all business units.
This role requires understanding customer needs, analyzing competitive positions, and collaborating with BU leadership to develop effective strategies.
Reporting to the VP of Customer Fulfillment and working closely with the General Manager/DVP, the leader will coordinate with logistics, procurement, planning, manufacturing, and customer service teams to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Based in Los Angeles, CA, this position manages 9 direct reports in regional distribution centers (RDC) located in various cities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment:
Develop and implement customer fulfillment strategies aligned with the company's and region's business goals.
Conflict Resolution:
Resolve service, cost, or quality conflicts across business units, escalating when necessary.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Represent the Customer Fulfillment group in GM/DVP staff meetings, owning outcomes related to inventory, logistics, RDC operations, freight, and service levels.
Team Development:
Lead regional supply chain teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth while applying the ShawWay and Performance Experience principles.
Performance Optimization:
Monitor and improve supply chain metrics (service levels, inventory, financials, safety, environment) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory Management:
Collaborate with S&OP teams to deploy inventory at regional hubs and RDCs, ensuring service level goals and inventory health guidelines are met.
Market Competitiveness:
Analyze competitors' strategies and propose actions to strengthen Shaw's local competitive position, tailoring approaches for each business unit.
Customer and Partner Engagement:
Build strong relationships with regional customers and participate in customer visits at least twice a month.
Servicing Level Agreement (SLA):
Create, adjust, and manage Service Level Agreements with GM and ISC partners, providing regular reporting and updates.
RDC Operations and Real Estate:
Oversee RDC showrooms and manage real estate, rental, lease, and 3PL relationships to support regional sales and financial goals.
Compliance and Communication:
Ensure adherence to regulations and policies while maintaining clear communication of strategies, metrics, and project updates.
Talent Development:
Attract, coach, and mentor talent, enabling advancement opportunities and supporting succession planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of supply chain or business management experience, including 5 years in leadership.
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective supply chain strategies.
- Deep knowledge of supply chain principles, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic and innovative thinker with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience managing large teams and complex operations.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take educated risks.
