Solutions Architect
Shaw/Scott, an award-winning digital marketing agency, is searching for a Solutions Architect to play an important role on our Technical Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering client value by implementing applications and solutions in various platforms, designing data architecture and providing recommendations, as well as architecting marketing frameworks, and languages.
You will lead technical solution design and architecture for medium to high complexity projects, crafting solutions that align with client goals and objectives. You will collaborate with teams across multiple practices to understand their requirements and deliver innovative solutions on-time and on-budget with low technical debt.
You will also play a vital role in relationships with strategic partners, acting as a trusted resource on behalf of Shaw/Scott while providing thought leadership on new emerging marketing technology. Additionally, you will help grow our business by providing leadership on business development opportunities, helping to both size the engagement and provide recommendations for marketing technology and data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop deep and lasting relationships as a trusted data and technology expert with technical stakeholders and customers and convey meaningful understanding of a customer’s unique business challenges, and how complex technology solutions can help solve them
- Serve as subject matter expert for one or more platforms, including cross-functional or upstream technologies (ie databases, CDPs, or other data tools)
- Maintain technology expertise through certification programs, learning opportunities, and peer mentoring/shadowing
- Manage delivery of client re-platforming, data integrations, new technology implementations, improved efficiencies and enterprise-level platform migrations, while aligning to project timelines and scope
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to manipulate and extract data from databases efficiently
- Articulate complex systems, information diagrams and technical details to articulate completed work and design and implement data processes for marketing technology (ESPs, MAPs, CDPs, Analytics) using APIs and ETL processes
- Act as a trusted advisor in recommending and implementing AI-driven solutions that innovate, improve outcomes, and keep clients ahead of the rapidly evolving tech landscape
- Support business development efforts with the proper information, tools, and subject matter expertise to sell engagements within the offering, as well as help with estimate development, scoping and planning
- Provide hands-on training and/or documentation to help the client or internal teams understand and digest the complexities of marketing technology
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and commitments
- Gain in-depth understanding of the marketing technology landscape, technology partners and competitive landscape of similar-agencies
- Demonstrate thought leadership and innovative best practices to develop a point of view on key technologies and or market trends
- Collaborate with Implementation Solution Engineers to deliver scoped projects
- Provide leadership through mentoring and coaching junior technical and functional team members
Role Requirements
- 7 years of hands-on experience in a solution-based role, delivering professional services, including implementing and optimizing data architecture and technical solutions
- Four-year college degree in computer science, computer technology, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience with multiple enterprise-level Marketing Automation Platform, including working knowledge of one of the leaders in this space (Oracle Responsys, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable, Braze, Cordial, Klaviyo, Bloomreach, etc.)
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Redshift, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with a strong understanding of data normalization and partitioning
- Understanding of email deliverability best practices, including IP warming, domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and inbox placement strategies
- Familiarity with email compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CCPA) and their impact on data management
- Expertise in designing, optimizing and integrating complex data architecture and requirements with business processes for scalable relational (SQL) and NoSQL database architectures (e.g., Responsys, SFMC, Iterable, Braze)
- Certification(s) in two or more areas of marketing technology and/or email marketing or related platform
- Ability to lead technical discovery sessions and effectively communicate data requirements to diverse audiences and have excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and clients; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Experience in writing complex technical documentation, including data schema, data architecture maps, and other supporting documentation
- Proficient in one or more related practices, including Rest APIs, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL and experience with personalization engines and scripting languages like AMPscript (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), Liquid (Braze, Klaviyo, Cordial), or RPL (Responsys Personalization Language)

Work Environment / Travel
We are a 100% remote company where you will work from your home with company-provided equipment to set you up for success. Semi-frequent travel to professional office settings and other events locally and nationally; some overnight travel expected.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $172,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Shaw/Scott, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package, including company paid health insurance, 401K with employer match, 4 weeks PTO per year, parental leave, communication allowance, and more. Our preferred location for this role includes the following states: Washington, Oregon, California, Chicago, Pennsylvania, New York, and Vermont.

Salary : $136,000 - $172,000
