Job Overview
Shaw Solar Service Manager
The Service Manager position is a key leadership role at Shaw Solar, responsible for overseeing and supporting the service technician team, and maintaining a consistent, high-quality customer experience. This office position works closely with field technicians and office staff to execute department responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented and enthusiastic
- Exceptional verbal and written communicator
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Computer proficiency
- Aptitude to learn technology and technical terms associated with the electrical and solar field. Existing industry knowledge is not required, but considered a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and manage incoming Service requests, assigning them to technicians, scheduling, and ensuring timely resolutions
- Serve as primary contact for client communications to ensure prompt responses to incoming and ongoing requests
- Act as primary administrator for price quotes, contracts, and invoices - with subject-matter support from technicians and Engineering team
- Oversee and support accuracy and timeliness of job records, tracking everything within the company CRM
- Conduct weekly team meetings to align priorities, challenges, and upcoming tasks
- Manage technician certifications, safety protocols, and trainings
- Serve as primary contact to major manufacturers for product issues
- Track and report department finance numbers quarterly
- Oversee online monitoring practices of existing Shaw Solar sites, as well as review/watch monitoring output on new installs, addressing issues proactively
- Other duties as necessary
As Role Evolves - Business Development Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update a business development plan to bring in new revenue opportunities and maintain best practices in current revenue fields
- Develop systems to improve department efficiencies
- Develop and maintain contracts for new and existing business opportunities
- Be the company representative at external meetings & calls aimed at Service Department development and best practices
Physical Demands
- Ability to spend extended periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to conduct site visits, which may involve walking, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
