Shaw Systems is a national software development company that has an established record of solid financial performance and an excellent reputation for providing quality products. We are seeking a motivated individual to work as a Senior Business Systems Analyst with our credit-based financial software products that run on multiple platforms. This position will be responsible for providing expert technical product support to clients, as well as troubleshooting complex software application issues. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience supporting customers in the banking, lending, leasing, collections or recovery software or a similar industry. Operational experience in the banking or the auto finance industry is a huge plus!
Responsibilities
- Has a strong understanding of the business application(s) and works with higher level staff or technical support to understand and resolve complex application software problems
- Able to do the research and testing that is necessary to answer complex customer inquires
- Investigate and analyze to identify solutions to client needs or application problems
- Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and concurrently to meet deadlines
- Responsible for communicating directly to customers on progress of issues
- Responsible for testing system enhancements and assisting clients with implementing new business features
- Ability to work with developers, testers, designers, and management to make the best decisions as a contributing team member
- Strong analytical skills are required to work through issues with limited direct supervision
- Occasional overnight travel to client sites may be required
Requirements
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and relational databases strongly desired
- Strong understanding of software systems from the user’s and technical perspective Advanced level
- - 4 years of experience in customer support in banking/lending software or similar industry
- Must work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines within short time constraints
- Additional hours may be needed during peak times and for software releases
- Formal presentation experience a plus
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and research skills.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or four years of related work experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree
Location
This position may work from any of the following locations: Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston office. Remote with the ability to travel at least 5% from the following states: Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Utah.

Supervisory Responsibility
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. The daily schedule may vary from 7 am – 4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required. Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.
Travel
This position will require up to 5% travel.
