Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Aging Unit/Adult Services Supervisor, the Community Nutrition Coordinator plans, organizes, and coordinates the preparation of food at designated congregate sites or host restaurants; coordinates the packaging and delivery of home delivered meals and services; recruits and trains volunteers; plans, develops and implements education and recreational activities for seniors; and assists in providing outreach services to the elderly.
This position works 20 hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Coordinates congregate dining and the home delivered meal services. Assists in preparing congregate, satellite, and host restaurant site(s) for the serving of meals.
-Coordinates the delivery of home delivered meals. Determines routes and confers with drivers regarding the health status and wellbeing of program participants.
-Plans, develops and organizes educational and recreational activities for seniors at meal sites. Schedules activities, makes arrangement for speakers, trips, outings, or special events. Makes arrangements for refreshments, transportation or materials needed for events.
-Provides outreach to the community by informing participants and the public regarding Shawano County services, programs and resources available. Prepares newsletters, flyers, notices, or other materials to inform the public regarding services of the County.
-Trains and recruits volunteers in congregate site duties involved in the serving of meals or in leading recreational activities. Explains duties and provide training in proper sanitation procedures in the packaging and serving of meals.
-Prepares, documents and maintains program records and prepares required reports regarding activities, meals and services provided by the program. Accepts meal reservations; collects and deposits monies; prepares food orders; maintains participation counts/records; tracks volunteer hours; donations; and other documentation required.
-Performs other duties of a comparable level/type, as required.
Work Requirements:
-High School Diploma or equivalent.
-Minimum of 2 years previous experience.
-Valid WI driver’s license and adequate insurance as required by County Policy.
-ServSafe Certification within first six months of hire.

Pay: $16.47 - $18.82 per hour
