Rate of Pay: $22/hour
Job Classification: Part time, non-exempt
Schedule: Part time
Location: Remote
Benefits: Part-time employees of Shawmut Services are not currently eligible for company-sponsored health benefits. In accordance with Massachusetts law, Part-Time employees are eligible for paid sick time
Role Description
Shawmut Services LLC is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team in the role of Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for handling and responding to incoming business correspondence. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for inquiries, both physical mail and electronic correspondence, from federal, state and local agencies in regard to wage garnishment, unemployment insurance, and employment history.
Key Responsibilities

Mail pick-up: Periodically travel to office locations in Newburyport & Boston to pick up physical mail

Mail Management: Sort and categorize incoming physical mail; respond to inquiries, requests, and correspondence as required

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence, including tracking deadlines, follow-up dates, and important notes

Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion and in compliance with privacy and confidentiality policies

Other administrative tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications

Proven experience in administrative or office management roles, preferably handling business mail and digital correspondence

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care

Must be comfortable using a computer and be able to pick up and understand new software quickly

Must possess a cell phone, laptop, and reliable internet connection

A reliable means of transportation is required

Experience or ability to utilize Google Workspace
Essential Physical Requirements

As this is a remote position, the individual in this position must be able to communicate with colleagues and partners via phone, including conference and video calls, as well as written communication such as email.

Must be able to reliably and independently travel to Boston and Newburyport.. Standard IRS mileage reimbursement will be provided.
