Responsibilities
Support end-to-end Commissioning processes and delivery of new or retrofit of existing projects to satisfy contract requirements, verify facility operations in alignment with owners' project requirements, and ensure building systems operate as intended.
Manage, plan, coordinate, and develop site-specific Commissioning activities as an integrated part of the Quality Control plan.

- Manage site-specific end-to-end commissioning activities for both new construction and retrofit projects, ensuring seamless delivery in alignment with project goals and operational readiness.
- Foster strong, collaborative partnerships with architects, engineers, trade partners, and construction operations teams to enhance project delivery, drive efficiencies, and ensure full compliance with design intent and quality standards.
- Execute and enforce project-specific policies and procedures to support schedule adherence, contractual deliverables, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee coordination with site-based Quality Control (QC) and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) teams to ensure all checklists, engineering documentation, and commissioning activities are completed in accordance with approved test scripts and commissioning plans.
- Develop a working knowledge of key project milestones, client/Construction Manager (CM) contract requirements, and third-party commissioning plans to proactively support successful project turnover.
- Integrate start-up and commissioning timelines into the overall project schedule, accounting for critical activities such as system testing, cleaning, and third-party inspections.
- Ensure adherence to the QC Plan by confirming availability of necessary resources, field documentation, and commissioning checklists prior to energization. Monitor completion of critical checkpoints before progressing to the next phase.
- Represent the project team in start-up and commissioning meetings, communicating QC plan execution and schedule status to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of commissioning plans for MEP systems that include testing requirements, inspections, factory startup, acceptance testing, documentation requirements and demonstration of full operational readiness.
- Provide on-site construction support for MEP systems, overseeing startup, test & balancing and commissioning, including owner training.
- Assist in the execution of functional tests and verification procedures to ensure systems meet performance standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of all applicable contract documents, including specifications, drawings, submittals, and building codes, to ensure construction and commissioning alignment.
- Lead or support pre-installation meetings with trade partners and vendors to communicate scope, expectations, and commissioning protocols.
- Oversee execution of the punch list prevention plan, working closely with project teams to identify and resolve commissioning-related deficiencies.
- Coordinate and evaluate third-party inspections and testing efforts, analyzing outcomes and facilitating timely corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7 years of experience in the commercial construction industry and/or MEP design, estimation, and construction.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or like discipline required.
- Additional Role Specific Skills: 30-hour OSHA certificate is desirable. LEED-accredited professional is desirable. Familiarity with working with BIM is a must.
