Greenbush – The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for an Unpaid Intern at TARC - Infant Toddler Program in Shawnee County.
Anticipated Start Date: 01/06/2025. Position will remain open until filled.
Job Summary: As part of the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center's mission to expand educational opportunities for all, unpaid internships are available to those who desire/require additional experience prior to applying for a paid position. Potential opportunities include, but are not limited to, the following: Work with a licensed professional to receive clock hours required to meet initial licensure/certification through a college or university. The job description will be designed based on the specific qualifications and professional needs of the Intern. The basic requirements for all internship positions are below.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
A valid driver’s license is required for employment. REAL ID is required if air travel is necessary to complete job duties.
- Interest in a discipline where Greenbush can offer expertise.
- Thorough explanation by the candidate of their area of interest, specific needs, and time requirements.
- Completed application on file with all required attachments explanation by the candidate of their area of interest, and specific needs.
- Willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively with Department Director and other colleagues.
- Ability to pass the initial screening, including a background check, drug test, and TB test.
- Provide own housing, travel, and other living accommodations.
- Willingness to travel on-site if the job is not performed virtually.
Preferred:
- The candidate's discipline of interest directly intersects with a "high priority" area of Greenbush.
- Candidate already has a basic understanding of their area of interest.
- The candidate is proficient in the software needed to adequately complete tasks in their area of interest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Work with the Department Director to develop individualized goals that meet the needs of both the Intern and Greenbush, based on the area of interest and hours of internship.
- Demonstrate flexibility in completing assigned tasks as many departments have workloads that shift in priority regularly.
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to meet departmental goals.
- Effectively utilize software necessary to conduct work.
- Adhere to all Greenbush policies and procedures.
- If an internship is tied to certification or college credit, complete all outside assignments and other requirements necessary for certification or college credit.
- Provide feedback on your experience to Greenbush Executive Team, Employee Resources, or others if requested.
General Responsibilities:
