Household Manager
We are seeking a full-time dedicated and detail-oriented House Manager / Cook. Our home is centered on a beautiful thoroughbred farm in a park-like setting in Mercer County, Kentucky. We are searching for an individual to manage the day-to-day operations of our private household. The House Manager will manage and supervise household staff while ensuring the highest standards of service for the homeowners and their guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Cooking and assisting with meal planning.
- Manage and supervise household staff.
- Assist in coordinating household events and overseeing guest accommodations and hospitality.
- Run errands and provide driving services as needed.
- Manage household schedule and calendars.
- Ensure the household runs smoothly and manages inventory.
- Notify maintenance staff for repairs as needed.
- Shop for food, supplies, and other requested items.
- Laundering and putting away clothing and changing linens.
- Look after guests.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Arranging appointments as needed.
Qualifications
- Flexibility to accommodate work outside normal business hours.
- Seasonal workload could extend to 50-60 hours per week and may include weekends and holidays.
- The workload during December thru March is minimal due to family’s absence.
- Ability to support the family in entertaining guests.
- Keen eye for detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Ability to handle delicate situations with refinement and discretion.
- Meticulous approach to work, with a strong emphasis on service.
