Position Summary:
A successful Scale Operator / Security Guard will be responsible for all facets of the truck weighing operation, as well as maintain the safety and security of workers, vendors, and company property on the premises. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, checking in visitors, inbound/outbound product transport, severe weather monitoring, supporting additional departments when needed as well as implementing and acting on emergency and safety procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Use a computer system to record the weights of incoming and outgoing trucks.
· Log information into a centralized database.
· Obtain sample of product to be tested by Grain Tester.
· Issue loading tickets / weigh out tickets to drivers.
· Oversee all operations of the organization on a 24/7 basis.
· Use Microsoft Excel and Word to document daily logs and other reports.
· Monitor severe weather as needed.
· Responsible for Emergency fire, tornado and Chlorine procedures.
· Responsible for employee keycard system, Card Access and furnishing replacements.
· Perform callbacks to maintenance personnel, electricians, boiler techs and millwrights on all shifts and schedules.
· Perform fire watch final checkups after hot work is performed.
· Monitor traffic and outside visitors to ensure proper check-in processes and investigate persons who are not familiar to the organization such as vendors, etc.
· Ensure all gates, doors, and buildings are secure.
· Receive inbound and outbound products via semi-truck haulers by operating truck scale and truck probe grain sampler.
· Manage rail system when needed, open gates and remove safety flags to ensure safety of workers and property.
· Knowledge and application of the Arkansas-Oklahoma railroad system.
· Knowledge and application of the inventory management programs.
· Knowledge and application of security systems.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be authorized to work in the United States.
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
· Must have valid Drivers License
· Ability to be CPR, AED and Trauma Care certified.
· Must have base knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word applications
· Strong reading, writing, math, spatial and mechanical reasoning skills.
· Detail orientated, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Previous experience working in a safety or security position preferred but not required.
· Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to walk, stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb, reach overhead and lift up to 50lbs.
· Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly for the entirety of shift.
Compensation:
· $13.00 - $14.00/hour – Depending on Experience
Work Schedule:
· Hours per day: 8 to 12
· Days per week: 4 to 6
· Overtime varies with production schedule
· Must be open to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
