Shawnee Specialties, Inc is a 45 year old precision small part diecasting company of Aluminum and Zinc products. The company produces die castings for the automotive, appliance, electronics and military. Certified to ISO 9001; 2015 edition and ITAR.
Shawnee is looking for a Quality Control Technician with experience.
Job Function:
- Perform inspections on the production floor for first piece approval on die cast and machined parts.
- Continual inspection for production verification.
- Perform sorting and containment inspections as a result of a quality issue.
- Perform receiving inspections (metals, purchased parts, parts returned from vendors) in accordance with control plan and inspection sheets.
- Perform final audit on orders before shipping.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Measuring instrument and gage experience (Calipers, Gage Pins, Height Gage)
- Blueprint reading
- Gage calibration verification
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others individually and in team settings
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Good problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in Google Suite as well as Microsoft Office efficiently
Preferred Knowledge and Skill:
- CMM and IMM Optical Measuring experience/knowledge
- CMM Manager software programing experience
- GD&T for inspection
- Root Cause / 8D / 5Y and or Fishbone problem solving tool experience
- AIAG Core Tools -
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Product Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 7am-330pm, 5 days a week (8 hours)
- 2nd Shift: 315pm-11:15pm, 5 days a week (8 hours) [$2/hour shift differential]
- 3rd Shift: 11pm - 7am, 5 days a week (8 hours), Starts Sunday night [$2/hour shift differential]
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
